JOB DESCRIPTION:

Experienced plastic injection moulding toolmaker required for prestigious Plymouth based manufacturing company, this is an excellent opportunity to join a professional forward thinking company. Job purpose: Performs skilled tasks using a variety of tools to modify, maintain, calibrate and repair machine shop tools, dies, jigs and fixtures. Works with engineers and tool designers to develop and modify tools. Works from blueprints, specifications and diagrams. Checks work with precision instruments. Main Responsibilities: Machining component parts from drawings, as well as EDM Electrodes. The use of Auto Cad for Electrode design. Set and Operate CNC Milling Machines, EDM Machines, Grinding and conventional Tool-room machinery. Service & maintain current production tools Participate in the upgrade, upkeep and cleanliness of the teams working environment. Essential Competencies Time served mechanical apprentice Strong background in plastic injection moulding tool manufacture: Ability to read technical drawings for the manufacture of Plastic Injection Mould Tools Knowledge of all aspects of injection mould tool design and manufacturing techniques. Knowledge of how to set and operate Toolroom machinery such as CNC Milling, CNC EDM Machining and conventional Toolroom machining. A good grounding in health and safety and knowledge and ergonomics A working knowledge of 5s. Desirable Proficient in use of MS Office suite of software.
