We are recruiting for the position of SIA Door Supervisors to work at Y Not Festival, Pikehall, Derbyshire.   The company: Vespasian Security Ltd is a multi-award nominated, family run, Hampshire based company that specialises in the supply of security and crowd management teams to the entertainment and leisure industries.   Job role: SIA Door Supervisors work as a vital part of the Vespasian Security crowd management teams. Deployed to festivals, music concerts, country shows, race tracks and stadium events, SIA Door Supervisors work in such areas such as search teams, gate entry locations, front-of-stage pit barriers, bars and back stages areas. Working closely within a large team all SIA Door Supervisors must be able to adapt swiftly to the changing demands of an event or deployment.   SIA Door Supervisors: Job Purpose SIA Door Supervisors work to maintain the four licensing objectives of the premises licence issued to the event at which they are deployed to. Working within the Vespasian team, SIA Door Supervisor ensure close and professional relationships are maintained with Vespasian client and their consumers. Trained to recognise individuals showing signs of distress, the Vespasian team work together to improve crowd safety and security at the events at which they are deployed.   SIA Door Supervisors: Job Duties ·         Working within British Standard 7960 and successfully passing screening and vetting in line with British Standard 7858. ·         Welcoming in client’s customers and providing full information regarding the event to those asking questions. ·         Attending event specific briefings ·         Completing all incident reports relating to incidents identified to the Event Control Room/Supervisor/Manager ·         The use of body worn cameras (when issued with) ·         The use of two way radio communication devices ·         Managing crowds to avoid distress and crushing ·         Asking for proof of age and or identification ·         Search bags and or customers with permission to do so ·         Collecting tickets from customers ·         Restraining others and escorting them from the premises if necessary ·         Dealing with emergencies ·         Supervising customers as they leave the building ·         Co-operating with police and other emergency stakeholders ·         Ensuring high levels of personal presentation to project a sense of calm and professional authority   Skills/Qualifications ·         A good level of physical fitness ·         The ability to make decision quickly ·         Good powers of observation ·         The ability to defuse potentially volatile situations ·         Reporting Skills ·         Report Writing Skills ·         Organisation and the ability to be a ‘self-starter’ ·         Analysing Information ·         Problem Solving ·         Friendly customer services ·         Verbal Communication ·         Tenacious persistence in the face of a challenge   Working hours Hours of work will depend on the opening times of the venue where you are deployed. During the summer festival season Door Supervisors can typically work between 10-18 hours per day over the course of a 3-4 day weekend. Typically Door Supervisors will be deployed at various events across the summer period (June-Sept inclusive). A limited number of events are available to work in May and Oct each year.
