JOB DESCRIPTION:
Science Teacher We are recruiting for an exceptional science teacher to join a successful department and support the move from good to becoming outstanding. Initially this is a fixed term contract for 1 year; however there may be an opportunity for this position to become permanent. Applications from newly qualified teachers and more experienced practitioners are welcome. The successful candidate will: * Be able to teach across key stage 3 and key stage 4 Science 3, delivering challenging, well-organised lessons across the ability range. * Contribute to the planning and implementation of the curriculum working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a coherent programme of study, supervise support staff, and provide cover as required. * Consistently mark and feedback to students ensuring that best levels of progress are achieved. * Set short term targets for learning taking into account prior attainment, ensuring that assessment is ongoing and recorded in line with school and national policy. * Have high expectations and commitment to school improvement and raising standards. * Have the ability to lead, motivate and inspire students and colleagues. * Set high behaviour expectations, establishing and maintaining a good standard of discipline through positive and productive relationships with students. * Support the school ethos and encourage high levels of attendance and good standards of punctuality.
