JOB DESCRIPTION:

Advert 30 hrs per week, 38 weeks per year, salary pro rata, Fixed Term until 21 August 2016 The Post Holder will report directly to the line manager in secondary schools The post holder will be working as part of a school team to support teaching and learning. Under the teacher s direction they will work within the classroom to support pupil learning, organise resources to support learning through the school and carry out duties relating to pupil pastoral support. They will be responsible for supporting pupils learning; he/she will promote an ethos of achievement through the development of positive working relationships. The post holder will have due regard for the health and safety of young people he/she is working with. This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
