VICTORIA HOSPITAL, KIRKCALDY PLANNED CARE DIRECTORATE - PAEDIATRIC UNIT PAEDIATRIC STAFF NURSE REF NO: HH920/08/15ELB SALARY: £21,818 - £28,462 PRO RATA BAND 5 - HOURS: VARIOUS An opportunity has arisen within the Children’s Unit for band 5 staff nurses to join our dynamic team. The Children’s Unit consists of inpatient medical/surgical ward with 26 beds, a 3 bedded High Dependency Unit, GP assessment area and an adjoining Paediatric Ambulatory Care Unit. You should possess excellent communication skills, be motivated, proactive, flexible and able to work autonomously and part of the bigger team. An awareness of the Paediatric Patient Safety Programme would be advantageous and a willingness to extend role to meet the needs of the service. Our ethos is that all staff will be multi skilled and able to work competently in all of the paediatric areas. We offer a robust education programme for all staff and expect staff to maintain professional development to acceptable level. We will offer a 2 week orientation programme for the successful candidate working within each of the area’s which will be a supernummery period. We encourage all newly qualified staff to complete Flying Start and allocated time will be given for this.
