Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will Manage the shift operation and performance Responsibilties include: * Control and monitor inbound or outbound functions via rotation * Ensure productivity levels are maximized on Inbound or Outbound areas using KPI’s * Achieve the highest possible throughput via automated sorters using best practice and high levels of staff training and operational understanding * Programme sort tables and use statistics to ensure true performance is being achieved * Monitor inbound or outbound Trunks to ensure SLA’s are strictly adhered to * Carry out daily yard checks to ensure inbound and outbound goods are being identified and dealt with in accordance with our own strict timelines. * Constantly monitor workflow to ensure all inbound goods are rotated in time and date order. * Maintain the health, safety and welfare of all employees through the provision of safe systems of work and control of the overall security of the Hub. * Manual handling best practice must be monitored; training and direction must be given to any Employees deviating from previously trained methods * Close Management and support of Section Leaders, Team Leaders and Assistant Shift Manager to ensure key targets are met * Manage use of Section Leaders and Team Leaders by the close monitoring and control of sickness, absence and holiday levels. * Ensure that the company’s disciplinary procedures are adhered to at all times. * Monitor and implement safe trailer loading with a view to removing any possible damage to Customer orders but still achieving best possible trailer fills. * Countersign all outbound manifest’s when running the Dispatch Area. * Ensure that all required reporting documentation/Manifests are maintained to the required standard & timescales * Run the shift on Sunday. * Ensuring that all working time directive records are maintained * Ensuring all compliance standards are maintained. * Experience of Distribution Management * Key understanding of KPI’s and their drivers * Ability to succeed in a fluid and fast moving enviroment * Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment * PC Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office * Good communicator – able to liaise at all levels * Great motivational skills and an all-round people person * Flexible approach to work
