JOB DESCRIPTION:

Due to continued growth CIP Metering has vacancies for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our national team of Meter Readers. We are looking for applicants to live and work in the LE11-12 postcode areas in Leicestershire. As a Meter Reader you will be responsible for visiting both commercial and residential customers to obtain readings from gas and electricity meters, carry out meter inspections, accurately record data and provide ongoing customer service. The position will involve daily contact with customers so great communication and customer service skills are essential along with the ability to work in a target driven environment. Experience of working outdoors would be beneficial as you will be required to work in all weathers and experience of meter reading would be advantageous although not absolutely necessary as full training is provided. We are looking for people with the following key skills: - the ability to prioritise workload to ensure that deadlines are met effectively ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity - be smart in appearance with a friendly attitude and a target-driven approach - computer literacy as you will be using a hand-held computer - experience in delivering great customer service You will be engaged on a 37-hour week paid at the rate of £7.22 per hour with the opportunity to participate in a bonus scheme based on achieveable outcomes from your work. This bonus scheme has unlimited potential for high performing staff. The role will include carrying out work on an appointment basis, being part of a 1 week in 4 on-call rota requiring working in the evenings and on Saturdays. Successful candidates will be based from home, self-motivated and highly organised, have good knowledge of the local area, be competent in numeracy and literacy and have the ability to work to timescales and under pressure. You must be able to pass the vetting standards which include proof of right to work in the UK, a UK National Insurance number, a 5-year history check and criminal record check. You must also have access to a telephone landline in order to receive your work via the handheld computer. We need you to hold a full European driving licence with a maximum of 6 penalty points and be able to provide your own transport for business usage reclaimable at 35 pence per mile. You will also need to provide business insurance cover for your vehicle.
