JOB DESCRIPTION:

Engineering - Calibration Technician – Pressure And Temperature Allied Aerosystems Limited specialise in the calibration and repair of test equipment from all sectors of aerospace, engineering, automotive and manufacturing. We are seeking to appoint a Calibration Technician – Pressure/Temperature, to undertake the test and calibration of pressure/temperature measurement equipment. The ideal candidate should have experience in the calibration and repair of pressure equipment. An understanding of the application and the use of temperature and pressure equipment, and general knowledge of metrology is also required, whilst an ONC/HNC in Engineering (or equivalent qualification) would be desirable is not essential. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, together with exceptional problem solving skills are required. The ideal candidate will be self motivated and committed to their self development. The ability to adapt to a changing environment, undertake a challenge, remain calm whilst under pressure are important qualities of the role. MAIN PURPOSE Test and calibration of pressure and temperature measurement equipment Key Tasks Undertake task/duties as per the company policies and procedures. Developing calibration and test procedures from various specifications to meeting best practice requirements. Investigate basic faults and conduct minor repairs. Generate calibration certificates and reports. Update and utilise the ‘job system’. Undertake customer on-site calibration as required Undertake daily workload as requested by the Team Leader. Regularly liaise with sales and administration staff. PERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications Essential A’Level Mathematics (or equivalent) General standard of education to GCSE level or O’Level Desirable ONC/HNC in Engineering (or equivalent) Experience and Skills Essential Experience in the calibration and repair of pressure equipment Excellent analytical and mathematical skills Excellent problem solving skills Ability to adapt to a changing environment Desirable Ability to use precision measurement equipment  Knowledge Essential Understanding of the application and the use of temperature and pressure equipment Knowledge of test/calibration and traceability requirements General knowledge of metrology (science of measurement) Desirable Knowledge of UKAS and BSI Personal Qualities Ability to work as part of a team Ability to undertake a challenge Ability to remain calm whilst under pressure Open to suggestions and help when required Commitment and self motivation Flexible response to changing priorities Commitment to self development You can apply by emailing your CV and a covering letter via the link below NO AGENCIES PLEASE.
