JOB DESCRIPTION:

Design Engineer (2D) Alfreton, Derbyshire £22,000 - £24,000 plus benefits Design Engineer/Drafts Person position available for candidates with 2D experience looking to learn new products and design skills.  This is a great chance to join a global business in a friendly design team. To apply for the role you must have 2D AutoCAD experience.  Any mechanical/manufacturing background will be considered as training on the products will be given. This is a new position within the design and manufacturing centre due to internal promotion.  The role will suit someone who is competent with 2D CAD looking to build skills and learn new products.  The role is varied, fast paced role and will involve product support, drawings for product arrangements and technical support.  Your main responsibility will be to produce 2D manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD.  You will work closely with the estimators to producing the drawings; liaise with the customer to ensure the specification is approved and create BOM for manufacturing.  The company are recognised on a worldwide level as a leading expert in bespoke large scale entry systems in both the public and private sector.  You will enjoy working for a company that has great ambitions and is driven by product development.  The role: •             Produce 2D manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD. •             Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will drafting for product arrangements, producing BOM’s and specification manuals. •             Excel -  maintain production bills of material and costs in conjunction with purchasing system •             Prepare technical information data sheets for customer facing product support documents such as sales literature, standard product drawings •             Maintain and update special installation manuals. •             Action incoming calls to the department Help desk system. •             Work closely with architects, estimators and customers directly. The person required: •             Candidates need to have experience in 2D AutoCAD within any mechanical/manufacturing company  •             Able to use Microsoft office packages. •             Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
