JOB DESCRIPTION:

Band 7 – Respiratory Occupational Therapist This position is an exciting opportunity to lead the Occupational Therapy Service to Acute wards and Critical Care at the Royal London. You will be working as part of a multi disciplinary team with a caseload that includes medical and surgical inpatients, alongside input into the 44 bedded Adult Critical Care Unit ACCU. The ACCU workload includes Trauma, Brain Injury, and Spinal Cord Injury patients. The applicant will need sound knowledge of Occupational Therapy intervention and discharge planning on acute wards. Expertise and experience with neurological deficits is essential; including early assessments and treatments within critical care such as splinting, seating and cognition. The role is an excellent position to work with fellow Senior Occupational Therapists and Clinical Leads to further develop the clinical procedures at the Royal London Hospital, including further development of OT service provision within the ACCU. The successful applicant will be based within the integrated OT/PT respiratory team at the RoyalLondonHospital. You will be supported in the development of both your clinical and managerial skills and enjoy the benefits of working within a large trust with a range of clinical specialist staff. We have a strong commitment to continuing professional development. You will need to be a versatile, adaptable team player who is prepared to work across a 7 day rota.
