We are looking for a highly motivated, technically skilled Acoustic Validation Engineer to join our clients Validation Engineering team, responsible for validation and characterization of new MEMS microphone designs. Acoustic Validation Engineer Location: Edinburgh, Scotland UK Acoustic Validation Engineer Salary: Dependent on experience Our Acoustic Validation Engineer Hiring Manager is looking for: •Experience with testing and validation of MEMS microphones •Understanding of mixed signal circuit design, including op-amp differential amplifiers, ADC’s, DAC’s, digital interfacing, DSP functionality etc. •In depth acoustic knowledge of microphones. •Knowledge of standardized audio/acoustic test methodology. •Strong ability to architect lab validation environments, including test bench setups and software environment. Acoustic Validation Engineer Key Responsibilities: · Responsible for definition of device validation plans · Responsible for development and execution of tests in validation plans · Responsible for definition and execution of experiments targeted at supporting design concepts · Architect and develop acoustic validation infrastructure used in MEMS microphone validation · Define and implement acoustic measurements on MEMS Microphones, prototypes and other acoustic form factors. · Analyze and draw conclusions on performance from acoustic measurements. · Supports validation and characterization of MEMS devices. Acoustic Validation EngineerMust-have Skills and Experience: · Experience with testing and validation of MEMS microphones · Understanding of mixed signal circuit design, including op-amp differential amplifiers, ADC’s, DAC’s, digital interfacing, DSP functionality etc. · In depth acoustic knowledge of microphones. · Knowledge of standardized audio/acoustic test methodology. · Strong ability to architect lab validation environments, including test bench setups and software environment. · Ability to execute test plans against device-level and system-level specifications · Ability to understand silicon, board hardware, and software interactions; including interactions that encompass customer usage models · Ability to develop a statement of work for experiments, and develop the test solutions to deliver on the statement of work · Problem solving skills applicable to board level, lab equipment, and software issues · Very strong skills and experience using oscilloscopes, multi-meters, frequency domain signal analyzers, analog test stimulus generation equipment · Basic skills in statistical analysis Acoustic Validation Engineer Desirable Skills · Working knowledge of Design of Experiments · Ability code test routines in Matlab, LabView, Python, or C/C++ · Board design experience for high performance analog and mixed signal circuits Acoustic Validation Engineer Education Requirements: * MS or BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with extensive or significant experience in validation engineering role
