Infrastructure Team Lead/ Lead systems Engineer Security, Networking, Devops Linux (Move towards head Of Infrastructure/ Operations) Are you a hands on Technical or Team Lead looking for a growing company to join to allow you to take a step up and move towards management where you can stay hands on but work alongside the CTO? Europes fastest growing retail E commerce firms based in the Home/ Gardening space are looking for an experienced and technical Infrastructure Team Lead to help the company manage the infrastructure as they look to rapidly scale the business. The company themselves are brilliant having quadrupled in size over the last 2 years they are still growing at an insane rate which has meant the need to scale the infrastructure to allow them to maintain this growth rate. They have set aside a few million to invest in infrastructure over the next year as they realise the importance of IT infrastructure within the business. The company are undergoing a massive migration over to Linux from Windows and as part of this are adopting devops principles which involve bringing IT to the forefront of the business and having open communication between all aspects of IT. As part of this the individual who would come in would be helping to champion this movement and leading a team of systems administrator, applications support engineers and technical architects. The role will involve being the most senior technical person in the team who is comfortable to get hands on if need be in a number of key infrastructure focused projects particularly relating to improving the security and network infrastructure and making the company PCI compliant. The company have a majority LAMP infrastructure and their platform is hosted in AWS with puppet being used for configuration management so the candidate coming in will need experience working in such an environment with the mind-set to help push the company more towards continuous integration/ delivery. What are they looking for? Strong Linux Background Experience managing network infrastructure Experience working in a high security environment Strong experience with Cloud technologies: AWS/Azure Knowledge of Voip Technologies This is fast growing organisation who have just moved into a newly furnished office in the middle of London so in terms of scope of growth in the role there is no where better. You will be reporting directly to the CTO managing a team of 15 set to double in the next year. The ideal person will be very technologically motivated who will want to be hands on with the latest tech but is keen to move upwards in his career to a Head of infrastructure position in a growing company where they can be part of scaling a platform and changing the landscape of the Ecommerce industry.
