JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Role : Town Planner / Strategic Reports to: Managing Director Starting date: Negotiable     Who we are : St Charles Homes is a boutique house builder, building beautiful bespoke homes, and waterside schemes. Based in West London near Heathrow, we also carry out residential management in the uk and abroad, and construction work. Key tasks of the new colleague will be: You will be taking on a challenging and complex case load of major applications mainly large scale residential and appeals. You will have an interest in shaping the built environment around our cities, with commercial, residential, office and Leisure allocations. You will be innovative, intrepid, assertive and challenging in your approach. Designing and managing research to underpin planning applications. Keeping up to date with existing planning legislation, monitoring, assessing and reporting on local plans. Your skills will contribute to service improvements and corporate projects as and when required.  You’ll set a good example to more junior staff, mentoring when required, and be an excellent ambassador to the service at all times to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.  You will also attend councilor site visits and evening meetings of the relevant council committees to present recommendations in respect of applications and major application related matters. Experience in negotiating and securing robust S106 agreements is helpful.   The successful candidate : Will preferably be MRTPI accredited, and have a degree in Town & Country Planning (or similar). You should also have proven experience working on similar projects in the UK and knowledge to hit the ground running with little to no supervision. You should have excellent knowledge of planning legislation and the planning process and a desire to keep knowledge up to date, maintaining an excellent level of competency to deal with constantly changing legislation.
