JOB DESCRIPTION:

Software Development Manager - Global Sports and Gaming Company - London We have partnered with one of the world s largest international online sports betting providers and have been asked to hire 2 talented and driven Software Development Managers. Driven by leading technology and a customer base of over 4 million, the company now processes over five million transactions a day from registered customers around the world. In addition to sports betting, they offer a portfolio of innovative products including casino, exchange games, arcade and poker. The role involves working closely with other development managers and product owners within the main platform team. You will be line managing a team of 7 and be responsible for the delivery of services written mainly in Java on the core platform. You must have come from a development and software engineering background and be able to lead your team in a Scrum Master style of approach. You should be a confident line manager with experience of coaching and mentoring developers as well as being respected and confident to be able to have the tough conversations as and when the need arises. Finally, you need to be accountable and take ownership to make sure the software your team produces is scalable and resilient. The software teams in the business are a confident and social bunch who follow a company ethos of a Lean MVP approach to their working. You must be able to make quick judgement calls and be able to adapt to quick change. What we don t want is somebody who s stuck in their ways and doesn t provide enough dynamic gravitas to get the job done. You should be a forward thinker and a technology enthusiast who wants to be in an energetic and exciting environment where you ll see real results quick.
