JOB DESCRIPTION:

A vacancy for a Band 7 Senior Clinical Practitioner has arisen in the forward thinking City &Hackney Therapeutic Community &Outreach Service TCOS based at Unity House, 2 Crozier Terrace, London E9 6AT. This service is part of the East London NHS Foundation Trust based within the City &Hackney Specialist Psychotherapy Services with clinical pathways to outpatient services providing specialist psychotherapy cognitive, psychodynamic, individual, group, couple and family treatments. We provide assessment as well as a range of treatments for individuals with complex needs, severe and disabling psychological difficulties in particular, Personality Disorder. The foremost aim of the service is to help people to find a way back into society and active lives as far as this is possible, through exploring ways to best understand and manage difficulties resulting from mental health problems. The service provides a number of different group-work programmes including an intensive 3-day programme that combines some of the aspects of a Therapeutic Community Model with a Mentalization-Based Treatment MBT approach and a one-day programme that works along similar lines. We are also currently in the process of developing , in partnership with a nationally recognised charity, a Service User Network SUN which will be a community-based pilot service offering open-access support for groups of people in crisis who have symptoms consistent with a diagnosis of personality disorder. Working in conjunction with our team of highly enthusiastic practitioners you will lead the enhanced outreach service; to deliver strategic priorities and maintain and improve high quality, safe and compassionate care to individuals with a diagnosis of Personality Disorder. The post will be based in the Outreach Service providing training, consultancy and support, including joint assessments, co-working and brief one-to-one interventions to other parts of the local Trust services , including inpatient units, community mental health teams and specialist teams. The post holder will participate in a range of interventions and be able to contribute to an area of specialism as a senior mental health practitioner supporting the development of therapeutic pathways with an emphasis on systemic perspectives and interventions. We are looking for an energetic, motivated and creative clinician with relevant experience working as a mental health professional with theoretical, clinical and practical knowledge of Personality Disorder.
