JOB DESCRIPTION:

Research Fellow in Animal Husbandry Institute of Biological Environmental and Rural Sciences (Fixed Term for 36 months) Grade 7 £32,277 – £37,384   A post-doctoral Research Fellow is required in the Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences. The post holder will work on the project CLEANER COWS (Consequential Life cycle assessment of Environmental & Economic Effects Of Dairy And Beef Consolidation And Intensification Pathways) in collaboration with Bangor and Cardiff universities.  The post is funded by the Wales National Research Network (NRN) for Low Carbon, Energy and the Environment.   The project will study sustainable intensification of agriculture at the UK level taking into account indirect land use change in other countries, and is expected to generate high-impact results relating to agricultural policy and farm management. The project team combines expertise in farm-scale LCA and economic modelling (Bangor University), animal husbandry (Aberystwyth University) and macroeconomics (Cardiff University). The successful candidate will integrate existing data with models and scale-up allowing modelling to be conducted at the regional and national level.
