Principal Consultant (Project and Programme Management) London, Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester Would you like to work for one of the fastest growing practices in the UK? Principal Consultant (Project and Programme Management) My client is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant, to be based in their PPM practice. As a Project or Programme Manager you will be heading up the team, working closely with clients and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate client needs into projects which deliver solutions. Alternatively, you will head up a workstream within a larger or complex Programme, helping to develop Business Case, Project Plans, manage Risks and Issues, manage Benefits, or identify Business Requirements, depending on the client’s needs. Responsibilities Include: Delivery of client-facing project management assignments according to the role to which you are appointed Delivery of internal projects or workstreams within the PPM practice Deliver all work to agreed time, cost and quality criteria Develop thought leadership in specialist fields Development of skills and expertise in support of business and personal objectives Identification of new sales opportunities and contribution to bids Competencies: Understands the key stages of a programme management methodology Take on the role of Project Manager in large and complex projects either singularly or as part of a larger programme, or the role of Programme Manager in smaller or simpler assignments Fully understands and implements the role of the Project and Programme Manager within the overall Governance framework, and shapes the overall project or programme structure and reporting requirements with the client Has the skills and experience necessary to write and/or understand a Full Business Case, blending industry standard frameworks with client templates Understands the concept and process of Requirements Management/ Benefits management Identifies and defines major products, activities and dependencies, timescales, resources and costs required to deliver the project or programme Uses change control process, methods and approval to agree changes to scope, deliverables, resources costs and timescales on the project plan Is proactive in the identification and management of Risk and Issues Uses an approved Risk and Issue management methodology and is able to tailor to the clients internal reporting where applicable Proactive in the development of quality plans and individual work packages Skills and Experience: Ideally Holds PRINCE2, ITIL, MOR qualification Ability to apply appropriate project and programme management frameworks to suit client needs Proven ability to work collaboratively with clients Proven ability to work in complex, multi-stakeholder environments Demonstrable understanding of the project and programme lifecycle Ability to develop, use and understand MS Project plans Strong written and oral presentation skills Degree (2:1 or higher) or equivalent qualification Reference: *AMC*NMO/12033992 Location: London, Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester Type: Permanent Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 (Plus Excellent Package!!)
