JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are currently recruiting for a maintenance technician to cover a temporary position for a large student accommodation company. The role of the maintenance technician is: To inspect and diagnose faults and repairs to the building, grounds and equipment and to undertake minor day to day repairs, and decorations. A large part of the job will be redecoration of the rooms and flats in preparation for the new intake of students in September. The responsibilities of the maintenance technician: * Inspect and record faults and repairs to the building, grounds and equipment; * Undertake minor day to day repairs and decorations * To use step ladders to undertake light bulb and ceiling tile changes and other repairs at height. * Manage the refuse and recycling facilities to ensure that the areas are cleaned and maintained appropriately. * The use of heavy machinery to carry out daily tasks. * To undertake moving furniture and heavy items around the building. * To ensure all health and safety policies and procedures are followed. The ideal maintenance technician will ideally have experience in any of the following: Builder, General Foreman, Site Manager, Construction, Maintenance Technician, Facilities Assistant, Electrician, Caretaker, Handyperson, Building Maintenance, Facility Manager, Maintenance Manager, 17th Edition, Health & Safety, Plumber, Carpenter, Joinery, Painter, Painting and Decorating etc. Hours of work 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm. You will also be required to work on 2 Saturdays, 29th August & 12th September
