Department Profile The Institutional Equity Division (IED) is a global leader in the origination, distribution and trading of equity, equity-linked and equity-derivative securities. The Firm’s equity Sales & Trading operations provide liquidity, distribute content, and create product solutions to help our clients generate alpha. The Equity Financing Products department acts as a strategic partner to more than 800 top hedge fund managers: executing and clearing trades across asset classes, time zones, and currencies; providing financing and expertise to help manage risk and benefit from technology; and consults to help launch new funds and connect with them potential investors. Primary Responsibilities • Global, cross-asset class responsibility for ensuring appropriate control of Morgan Stanley’s sale of structured products to retail investors. • Owner of policies and procedures which set our standards for which structured products may be sold to retail investors and in what manner they may be sold. • Partner with Legal and Compliance Division to ensure all applicable regulatory requirements are met. • Partner with business unit teams to adapt as appropriate to evolving commercial dynamics. • Chair regional rsp governance committees. • Key point of contact for internal stakeholders and regulators. • Escalate issues as appropriate to the Structured Notes Operating Committee. Skills Required • Legal degree and a finance master’s degree or equivalent • Experience of working within a Law firm. • Experience with debt capital markets • Experience in financial governance specifically within Structured Products This role will report to the EMEA Head of Equity Risk.
