JOB DESCRIPTION:

Head of Policy & Advice - Edinburgh Purpose of the role: You will be an experienced Senior Risk & Compliance professional with good retail banking product knowledge. Experienced in developing key policy recommendations at strategic level with key skills in ensuring risks are understood, mitigated and controlled through analysis, investigation and evaluation. In depth understanding of all industry regulatory matters that impact the business. Role responsibilities: * Assist Head of Compliance and Conduct to implement and manage short, medium and long term strategic compliance planning, risk appetite, governance, legislation and codes * Oversee compliance and Conduct policies within the organisation * Liaise with all internal stakeholders to ensure implementation successful and all appropriate controls in place * Provide MI to support team reporting to the Board, Board Risk Committees and other internal departments * Provide policy and regulatory advice for agreed change programmes at strategic and operational levels including advice on new product implementation and associated risks * Continuous monitoring and control of wider compliance framework covering all banking products * Awareness of future industry policy changes that will impact the business and adjust, plan and update strategic framework accordingly * Lead and manage a high performing team, developing colleagues through stretching objectives, feedback and coaching To be suitable you ll have: * Experience in implementing risk frameworks within the financial services sector * Full understanding of retail banking * Full understanding of retail banking products, competitors, operating models and strategy * Experience of managing small projects, initiating and managing change across diverse areas and able to deliver results in periods of uncertainty * Excellent negotiation, influencing, relationship management and leadership skills * Excellent communicator and ability to develop strong internal and external relationships * Awareness of developments and changes to banking regulations * Ability to produce high level reports highlighting complex/technical issues to suit senior level personnel Apply now with your up to date CV or contact me on
