JOB DESCRIPTION:

An exciting opportunity for a Clinical Scientist has arisen in Access to Communication and Technology ACT, our specialist assistive technology service, which is based at the West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre, Selly Oak, Birmingham B29 6JA. The role entails providing high quality clinical input and contributing to clinical and technical service development, as the service expands in response to recent new investment from NHS England. The post holder will:- Provide professional and clinical leadership for all Healthcare Science staff in the ACT Service Be an independent clinician working within the ACT team, assessing and delivering solutions, many of which are novel, to patients with complex needs. Liaise with other Healthcare Science professionals and relevant professional groups, special interest groups, universities and training organisations and/or voluntary bodies at a local, regional and national level. Manage and lead specific clinical and healthcare science professional initiatives and projects within the ACT Service. This may include specific projects for individual patients alongside research, development and innovation projects. Provide day to day management of the technical team as well as planning and stock management.
