Dual Band 7 post Senior Charge Nurse/Emergency Nurse PractitionerAdult Emergency DepartmentImperial College Healthcare trustAn exciting opportunity has arisen within the Emergency department at St Mary’s Hospital in London for a band 7 senior charge nurse/ emergency nurse practitioner. The St Mary’s Department department treats in excess of 120,000 patients each year and serves a diverse and transient population. It comprises of dedicated Adult and Children’s departments and a 12 bedded clinical decisions unit and an integrated urgent care centre. The department is also the major trauma centre for North West London. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced individual who is able to work in a busy environment leading the team and managing patient care within an acute setting. You will have a minimum of 2 years experience in emergency nursing as a band 6 and must hold a current registration with the NMC, the emergency nursing/critical care course and mentorship course. The possession of the emergency nurse practitioners course is desirable but not essential. Many of our band 7 nurses are being supported on masters’ programmes and are advancing their clinical skills, including the role of the emergency nurse practitioner all are allocated a number of shifts to meet the needs of patient who attend the integrated urgent care centre. Applicants will need to demonstrate a dynamic, hard working, and passionate approach to delivering high quality, patient centered care; sharing our vision, values and ambitions to improved the patient pathway and their overall experience. You will have the opportunity to work in all areas of the ED and will be supported by the senior nurse and Nurse Consultant in Emergency Care.In return, you will be offered support to develop your own clinical and management skills; receive regular appraisals and have access to courses designed to meet your specific learning requirements.
