JOB DESCRIPTION:

Would you like a unique opportunity to work with some of the most challenging issues within offshore wind through management of major claims processes? Join us and become part of Service Agreements & Claims Management, which is responsible for handling warranty claims for our operational wind farms. The claims processes include large end-of-warranty projects and strategic claims affecting our portfolio of offshore wind farms. The department is part of Wind Power, which has 1,400 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You will be based at our office in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling in Northern Europe in relation to your work. Areas of responsibility You will be responsible for managing major claims processes against leading contractors within offshore wind, in particular suppliers of wind turbines. This includes the assessment and documentation of defects, ensuring the execution of required inspection activities and alignment with regard to technical solutions to defects as well as the negotiation of commercial agreements with suppliers. Throughout the process you will be backed by competent colleagues in the department, Asset Integrity Specialists and Group Legal and you will ensure close cooperation with Site Operations. As defects may have an impact on more than one wind farm, you will also make strategic assessments as well as manage warranty cases and settlements across our portfolio of operating assets. Further, you will align the claims and settlement processes with our partners for individual wind farms. In carrying out your job, you need to maintain a balanced approach between warranty management and long-term relations with key suppliers. Furthermore, your key duties will be to: •drive and manage major end-of-warranty claims processes as well as handle individual claims •prepare and document to a high standard defect notifications and settlements •ensure appropriate reporting on claims processes to management, partners and internal stakeholders •ensure alignment of processes with internal and external stakeholders. Your profile You have a degree in engineering and are broadly founded within mechanical and electrical engineering. You have commercial flair, a good business understanding and you find an interest in having to consider and communicate technical issues from a commercial angle. You have some years’ working experience, preferably from the wind energy business. It is important that you have a result-oriented approach to your assignments and work in a structured manner. Your project management skills enable you to successfully and simultaneously deliver on several complex and high-profile warranty projects. Furthermore, you enjoy working both independently and in teams ensuring excellent results. Finally, you have strong communication, networking and influencing skills to navigate in a large and diverse organisation.
