Backend Developer, Workflow & Research Processes, Bagsvaerd Novozymes is playing strong on a journey to enhance business and scientific productivity through better exploration of research data across the organization. Our goal is to increase the productivity of the global science community by providing seamless and intuitive access to data and continue improving traceability of key research data. To support us reaching our objectives we are currently looking for a Backend Developer to join the Workflow & Research Processes department, anchored in Scientific Data Management & Analysis within Novozymes Research. We are a team of IT experts and scientists who develop in-house data management systems to enable biotechnology innovation. As a Backend Developer you will specialize in building and maintaining our specialized scientific data and research workflow support platforms which enable world class research. You will be responsible for ensuring consistent, available and well performing applications, and participate in the entire software development process, from estimation and planning to specification, documentation, development, testing and deployment, and afterwards continue with maintenance and support. If you enjoy challenges and have a self-driven but team working mindset, through this job you will have a unique opportunity of impacting and improving how researchers in Novozymes use data and systems to support their research. Please note that some travel may be expected. In this position you need to have: - A Master degree in IT, engineering bioinformatics, or equivalent working experience. - Subject matter expertise in professional software development, preferably with backend web platforms. Experience in IT system administration, Bioinformatics, or IT Architecture is an advance. - Practical experience with Linux based development environments, object oriented programming, Perl, or another dynamic language (python, Ruby), relational databases (preferable PostgreSQL), and REST web services. - Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with a collaborative and influential approach and a strong customer focus. - Team player that proactively participates in both individual and team related activities, and can communicate appropriately at different levels.
