Would you like to develop, design, construct the onshore substation and O&M Facilities for our offshore wind projects? Join us and become Civil Engineering Manager in our team in Substations which is responsible for managing engineering activities for our onshore substations and O&M facilities throughout development, execution and construction until handover to operation and maintenance. We are looking for candidates who are eager to make a difference and contribute to future wind projects. The team is part of Wind Power which has 1600 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area or in Skærbæk near Fredericia. However, you should expect some travelling in Denmark and Northern Europe in relation to your work. Areas of responsibility As Civil Engineering Manager, you report to the Project Management and are responsible for all matters pertaining to civil design, layout and interfaces to the Electrical Engineering Manager of our sites/buildings. Additionally, you coordinate the work between multi-functional teams from feasibility and concept studies to detailed design and follow-up. It is your responsibility to start up the engineering project and manage engineering contracts, time, budget, resources, quality and designs within this project scope. In the process, you inform Project Management of all significant technical issues, particularly risks, develop contingency plans and are in charge of management of changes in the design and fabrication phases. Furthermore, your key duties will be to: •establish scope of services for architects and engineering consultants •establish requirements for geotechnical investigations •carry out project risk assessments •prepare technical requirements for construction works and participate in negotiation meetings •close down the subproject and prepare technical documentation, operation and maintenance manuals for hand-over to operations. Your profile You have a bachelor s or master s degree in civil engineering and extensive experience in designing and heading design teams within your field of expertise and 10+ years of experience from other large onshore projects, preferably within wind or power plants from a consultant or contractor. You thrive in an international environment, and as our projects bring together various employee groups, nationalities, cultures and authorities, it is essential that you have excellent communication skills and speak and write English fluently. It is essential that you have a result-oriented approach to your work. Furthermore, you have team spirit and are able to create excellent results through teamwork.
