Engineer/Chemist - Formulation development, plant protection agents

We are looking for a candidate for an exciting position in FMC Formulation and Scale Up Department situated at the European Innovation Center in Hørsholm. We are 13 employees in the Formulation and Scale Up Department residing in new microbiological and chemical laboratories. The department deliver product development, characterisation of new formulations of plant protection agents, maintenance of a comprehensive product portfolio, and support to initial test productions. Are you passionate about formulation chemistry/microbiology and process implementation? Would you like to work with formulation development both in laboratory, pilot scale and at start up? Then this may be the position for you! Position Development takes place individually and in cross-organizational or disciplinary project teams with close focus on commercial needs. Your primary responsibilities will be as follows: • Daily operations in Kilo Lab secquiring delivery deadlines. • Participate in global cross-functional project work developing new sustainable products and formulations. • Trouble shooting and maintenance on the formulations and productions of FMC plant protective products, focusing on safety, efficacy, cost and environment. • Contribute to building and maintaining the company''s experimental and practical formulation knowledge platform on an international level both in the lab and in our pilot scale. • Participate in the servicing of and cooperation with external partners, suppliers, universities and testing stations. • Contribute to a safe work environment by exhibiting safe behaviours and leading individual initiatives that focus on specific safety hazards. Profile You hold a MS. or Ph.D. in Science and/or Engineering disciplines such as Chemistry, Microbiology, Materials science or equivalent and have a solid background in physical, organic and colloid chemistry. It is definitely an advantage if you have experience in formulation science as well as in scaling up manufacturing processes from lab to pilot and from pilot to high volume manufacturing. You have proficiencies in standard office software and preferably also in statistical and DoE tools. It is a prerequisite for the position that you are fluent in both written and spoken English. Your communication skills are good and you find it exciting to work with other professional groups in an international environment. As a person you are creative, energetic, confident, practical and inquisitive with strong initiative and good observational skills. You are quick to provide an overview and you take pride in managing your responsibilities. At the time of employment, you must hold appropriate employment authorization to work in Denmark.
