We are currently working with a leading utilitises company who are the operator of the GB gas transmission pipeline system, delivering around half the nation’s energy needs on a 24/7 basis. The national gas transmission system consists of 7,000km of high quality welded steel pipelines operating at pressures up to 85 bar Gas compressor stations are strategically situated along the pipeline to pump the gas along the route. As a key resource within a small team, you will contribute positively to the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance. About the Role: Your main role will be to undertake Instrument maintenance, inspection, repair of the various Instrumentation equipment on the site ranging from Pressure, Temperature, Level, Speed and Vibration calibration, other equipment to maintain will include PLC’s and flow metering. Knowledge and Experience of Industrial gas jet engines would be desirable but not essential. Part of the role will also require you to undertake site operations and call-out standby to Compressor Station or Pipeline and AGI assets within a the local area , maximising asset and plant availability and reliability. You will also: • Be responsible for keeping up to date with all site maintenance, asset, operational and safe control of operations records of all work activities and operations undertaken; • Be a part of and support the construction and commissioning of new assets onto the gas transmission system, identifying the requirement to replace/upgrade existing plant and equipment as well as participating in the design of minor modifications, and the provision of technical support; • Contribute to the development, review and update of emergency, security, safety, operational and environmental plans and procedures to ensure safe and cost effective operation of plant and equipment; About you • You will be educated to a minimum of BTEC National Certificate (or equivalent) in an Instrument Engineering Discipline, with relevant maintenance and/or operational experience; • Proven Health & Safety experience or an equivalent qualification; • Good understanding of the operation and maintenance of high pressure gas transmission pipelines and above ground installations is highly desirable, although a wide range of backgrounds will be considered.
