Vacancy Description: As an apprentice you will work within the customer services teams dealing with customers face to face and via the telephone. To develop the necessary skills to deal with customers issues efficiently and effectively within customer care guidelines. The customer service apprentice will work across all areas of customer services including:- Reception – dealing with customers face to face issuing and receiving forms as necessary, greeting visitors and signing them in if necessary, providing general advice and guidance where appropriate. Call centre – answering calls from customers on a range of service areas, enter customer data onto relevant database systems as required, adhere to cear desk policy, take card payments as required. Cash office – take payments from customers for a range of different debt types, ensure transactions are completed quickly and accurately, balance float at the end of the day Central complaints – gain an overview of the central complaints team, process complaints effectively, learn to capture complaint details and forward to the relevant teams. Beadle function – to assist in the setup of civic rooms for meetings, report issues affecting rooms to the appropriate help desk. Key responsibilities are to:- * Deal with customers in a polite, friendly and customer focussed way. * Follow instructions carefully to deliver the best service possible and to learn for the future. * Provide accurate information across a range of service areas * Work as part of a team and also on own intiative * Update appropriate database systems * Be impartial at all times Skills Required: * Microsoft Office Skills to include; Word, Excel, Power Point. * Good people skills, team worker, adaptable, quick to learn. * Good at working within a team environment. * Accurate * Customer focussed * Reliable Qualifications required: GCSE’S A-E in Maths English and ICT You will also need to complete an initial assessment, which will help us guide you to the most appropriate programme to meet your needs. Important other information: You must be able to travel to both Bayard Place and the Town Hall in Peterborough on a daily basis. This vacancy will be based at both Bayard Place and Town Hall - The Town Hall and Bayard Place are both located in the town centre, a 5-10 minute walk apart. The Town Hall address is – Bridge Street, Peterborough, PE1 1HG. 37 hours per week, 7.4 hours per day Monday to Friday. Within this time will be given to study for the NVQ. The start and end times depend upon the service area you will be working in. This can be as follows:- * Reception team – 9am to 5pm * Complaints – 9am to 5pm * Call centre – between 8am to 6pm * Beadle – between 8am to 6pm – but on occasions could work until 7.30-8pm f
