The department The Finance Department’s responsibility is to develop, implement and maintain an effective and timely system of financial reporting and control to the company. Finance creates value-oriented processes and systems that provide financial insight into the business activities and objectives that allow for better overall decision making. The department supports business growth through appropriate financial planning and resource allocation, fulfill fiscal responsibilities by managing assets, monitor financial results, and provide timely status reports of fiscal performance. The department headed up by the Finance VP is a key member of the global finance team and participates in- and contribute to discussions regarding key strategic business issues and initiatives. The key customers of the department are the Owners, site Leadership Team and Global Executive Management. Join a professional and dedicated finance team The position reports to the CFO and have a dotted line to the General Manager of the Copenhagen site. The VP of Finance is a full member of the Copenhagen Leadership Team. The position will serve as a key member of CMC Biologics’ Senior Management Team and direct the Copenhagen finance and accounting functions. The VP of Finance will be the main responsible for: • Directing the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Responsible for the monthly financial close for the Copenhagen site. Some hands-on work is required. • Actively participating in reengineering our financial systems and processes through building a more robust finance function. • Providing internal organizational leadership in structuring and staffing the Finance/Accounting group to maximize productivity, clarify responsibilities/expectations and support the company’s operating functions. • Ensuring that the organization’s accounting records are maintained in accordance with established legal, regulatory (e.g. tax) and company standards and filing of external statements (VAT and statistics). • Developing and amend corporate financial policies promoting financial responsibility and sound business judgment. • Ensuring that capital asset requests are fairly assessed approved and occurs in a planned fashion. • Ensuring the integrity and adequacy of the company’s financial systems, including the modification or enhancement of these systems as required. • Actively monitoring financial risks and ensures that risk mitigation strategies are in place. • Being able to actively manage cash flows. • Managing relationships with external tax consultants, auditors, bankers and insurance representatives. • Identifying key priorities and problems, obtain relevant information, identify root causes and generate alternative solutions to reach sound management decisions. Experience We expect you to have minimum a Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance and preferably also a MBA. In addition we are explicitly looking for: • 5-10 years professional experience covering a broad range of accounting and finance issues. • Track record of successfully leading the finance/accounting function and adding value to an aggressive growth strategy in a medium-sized organization. • Excellent communication abilities along with the interpersonal and leadership skills needed to motivate and build a strong finance/accounting team. • Excellent business judgment, able to identify and resolve issues before they become problems. • Thorough knowledge of financial and accounting practices and procedures (IFRS). • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally and interacting with individuals at all levels of the organization. • Ability to prioritize work assignments to meet tight deadlines. Demonstrate excellent time management skills. • Effective in a hands-on, entrepreneurial, team-oriented environment. • An authentic person with high ethical standards. Experience in Life Sciences and/or from Audit firms is a plus.
