NÁPLŇ PRÁCE:

Graphene is novel material with outstanding physical properties. In HTF-NIAGRA new products and processes related to passivating coatings, composites and conducting ink are developed in collaboration with Danish companies. DTU Nanotech conducts cross-disciplinary research where micro- and nanotechnology is applied to a wide range of scientific disciplines (electronics, mechanics, chemistry, optics, fluidics, medical and biotechnology) as well as applications. DTU Nanotech depends heavily on the two state-of-the-art facilities, DTU Danchip (1300 m2 cleanroom) and DTU CEN – Center for Electron Nanoscopy. The graphene cluster at DTU Nanotech is rapidly growing with activities oriented towards basic and applied research, experimental, industrial and theoretical research alike, and with strong international collaborations. DTU hosts the Center of Excellence CNG (Center of Nanostructured Graphene) with 30+ researchers and students covering both fabrication, measurement and theory of graphene devices. Responsibilities and tasks DTU wish to employ a postdoctoral researcher for 1.5 years to perform research in the field of graphene devices based on nanopatterning. One of the main hypotheses is that patterning (e.g. a graphene nanomesh, patterned gates, or patterning of dopants) of the graphene can lead to electron guiding in graphene and provide faster and more compact routes to traditional CMOS transistors. The target is to develop nanopatterned graphene devices and simple circuits operating at room temperature. The work involves high density nanopatterning and processing of graphene as well as integration with field effect devices using nano- and microfabrication. Test materials and devices will be characterized with AFM, Raman spectroscopy and Terahertz conductance mapping developed at DTU, and characterized electrically from room to cryogenic temperatures, at zero and non-zero magnetic fields, and at high frequencies through international collaborations. The work will be carried out in close collaboration with high profile European research groups within the framework of the Graphene Flagship project, and the successful candidate will play a leading role in the graphene-based electronics activity at DTU nanotech. The job involves supervision of Ph.D. and master students. Required qualifications Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in physics, electronics or engineering, and should have - Extensive experience in graphene device design, including fabrication of graphene based heterostructures and nanopatterning via electron beam lithography - Extensive experience in electrical characterisation of graphene devices, from room to cryogenic temperatures, possibly including transport measurements at high magnetic fields. - Other relevant characterisation techniques for graphene such as Raman spectroscopy, SEM, TEM and AFM. - Experience in laboratory management, including equipment purchasing, construction and lab safety. - Solid theoretical background and knowledge of concepts and methods in the field/literature. Other relevant qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with: - Scientific production and research potential at international level - Innovative skills and the ability to generate new ideas - Independent problem solving skills - Excellent communication and language skills - International experience and international collaborative projects We offer We offer an interesting and challenging job in an international environment, with state-of-the-art facilities and quickly growing graphene activity, with strong experimental as well as theoretical competences. The Nanocarbon group is a group consisting of creative and busy researchers with a positive and collaborative work style. The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is a leading technical university in northern Europe and benchmarks with the best universities in the world. Salary and terms of employment The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with t
