Department of Management Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark invites applications for a position as Associate Professor in Design Creativity in Engineering and Innovation. The associate professor will be attached to the division of Technology and Innovation Management. The division is expanding significantly and is organised within three research groups: Industrial Dynamics & Strategy; Entrepreneurship; and Design Engineering & Innovation. The new associate professor will be affiliated with the latter Group. The group is characterized by young dynamic staff with strong research collaborations with industry and leading international universities, a very successful track record of research applications to public and private research funds and an increasing number of publications in leading international academic journals. Responsibilities and tasks With the position the department wants to strengthen its capabilities in research and teaching within Design Creativity in Engineering and Innovation. We are seeking candidates, who are committed to high quality research that will impact the field, and who can interact effectively with peers in enhancing the intellectual climate of the Group. The new associate professor is expected to participate in research-based teaching (with associated examination commitments) at the bachelor, master and PhD levels. The teaching includes contributions to the 3-year program leading to a B.Sc. in Design & Innovation and to the two 2-year programs leading to the M.Sc. in Design & Innovation and the M.Sc. in Engineering Management, respectively. Contributions to the university’s executive programmes are welcomed. The associate professor is expected to establish relations to other departments and centers at DTU (e.g. Department of Mechanical Engineering). Besides the central research and teaching tasks, DTU encourages staff to engage in innovation (e.g. industrial collaborations and start-up activities) and/or research-based public sector consultancy. Dissemination of research results to the broader public is very welcomed. Qualifications Candidates must •hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an Assistant Professorship •document didactic/pedagogic training We expect you to have competences in the following areas: •Hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) in the psychology of creativity, new product development or a closely related field, including solid research experience. •A strong track record of scholarly research and publications at an international level. •Strong analytical skills and significant skills in empirical research methods. •Documented and successful teaching experience at different levels related to the course areas offered by the department.
